Климатические условия Казахстана оказывают огромное влияние на сельское хозяйство.Из-за удалённости Казахстана от морей и океанов климат здесь резко континентальный,с большими перепадами температур.Лето жаркое,а зима холодная и малоснежная.Воздух очень сухой,осадков выпадает мало.Только среднегорные районы имеют мягкие зимы и достаточное увлажнение.Здесь чётко выражены четыре времени года.
Если посмотреть на карту природных зон Казахстана,которая представлена ниже,то можно увидеть,что на севере страны расположена зона степей,южнее зона полупустынь,затем пустынь.В соответствии с этими зонами здесь размещено и характерное сельское хозяйство.
Так,на севере Казахстана хорошо растёт пшеница,ячмень,овёс,подсолнечник,лён.А на юге,где воздух более тёплый,хорошо растёт хлопчатник,рис,табак,сахарная свекла,виноград,бахчевые культуры,фруктовые сады.
Также здесь хорошо развито овцеводство,верблюдоводство (в южных районах);коневодство,птицеводство и разведение крупного рогатого скота на северо-западе.
