1. Do not rely on self-education. Self-education is, of course, good, but very few people are capable of it. You will achieve much better results, if you have a teacher, and self-education would be a good addition.

2. Take language learning time.

To do the language it regularly. Cavalry assaults in this complex will not help. The real results will be only in the regular classroom.

3. Learn a language the way you do it best.

Someone is easier to perceive information at the hearing (auditory), and someone better takes seen (the visuals).

Find out which channel of perception you work better and learn a language on this basis.

Tests network bunch. For those who regularly wrote in LiveJournal, I can advise a quick way. This test quickly analyzes your recording and displays the result.

4. Combine the pleasant with the useful.

At school English was my favorite lesson because our teacher realized that not necessarily the entire lesson to insert spaces in the Soviet textbooks on English. You can have an interesting conversation in English, vvorachivaya in this case the right words, grammatical construction.

So:
- Watch movies (especially if you are visual or auditory visual)
- Read books (especially if you are visual)
- Listen to audio books (especially if you are auditory)
- Sing songs
Stay tuned
- Read books on his specialty

With the Internet opportunities are just insane.

5. To expand your vocabulary, use the flashcards.

I'm at the University more than one pack of paper wasted on cards. On the one hand the English word, on the other translations, phrases, examples and so on. It is very important to not write a single value, namely the significances. So you have much quicker to develop intuition. You will feel the language, not to translate sentences word by word.

I hand these cards wrote. Now 100 times easier to make a template in Word or Excel and paste the words from multitran.ru or lingvo.ru

Work with the cards a couple times a day. The most effective and fastest system.

6. Travel.

Truly the tongue untied abroad, in the language environment. So if possible, be sure to immerse yourself into the unknown :)

I really overcame the language barrier in America. Before that, everyone knew, and could not tell :) or Rather I could, but big trouble.

7. Watching a movie with subtitles.

Take your favorite movie, looking for script to his network (e.g. all transcripts of the "Friends" literally 5 seconds found here), print, disassemble and look until you're blue. The result is a lot of fun, remember mulenov useful phrases and expressions, and most importantly - cultural context.

8. Learn the language of English, not the Soviet textbooks.

In Russian textbooks, the mass of inaccuracies, errors, bugs and other garbage, which is not typical for the language. Why do you need this baggage thinking of stamps?

9. Download and listen to audiobooks.

A wonderful thing. Expanses tyrneta just Packed with audiobooks in all languages of the world. And free. Download and listen listen and download.

I was in Moscow, listened to a minimum of 1.5 hours a day. Classics and trash, lectures on marketing, podcasts and so on. To many books, you can find transcripts, so if the energy is over the edge, you can first disassemble everything on paper and then pin on the way to work, in traffic jams and so on.

What do you know about the really architecture ? It seems to me that you never lisened about Gustave Alexander, aren't you ? This is a great architect. He is known for his famous Eiffel Tower. The Statue of Liberty, Maria Pia Bridge and Santa Justa Elevator are him projects too. Gustave Alexander was born in 1832 in France. He had many projects for future, when he became an engineer. He was teaching in Royal Lyceum in Dijon and had influential family. During his life, he met with renowned engineers. He died in 1923 in Paris.
