Pi and the tiger spend 227 days in the lifeboat. They live through terrible storms and are burnt by the Pacific sun. They are often hungry and ill. Sometimes, Pi is happy and hopeful, but sometimes he feels sad and lonely. Finally, they arrive at the coast of Mexico, but you will have to read the book to find out what happens in the end! Weimar liegt in der malerischen Gegend des Thüringen Waldes. Dieser Wald wird "das grüne Herz” Deutschlands genannt. 

Weimar ist auch die Stadt der Museen. In Weimar lebten und schufen ihre Werke die Klassiker der deutschen Literatur J. W. Goethe und F. Schiller. Im Zentrum der Stadt, auf einem klei­nen Platz steht ein zweistöckiges Haus. In diesem Haus verbrachte 50 Jahre seines Lebens J. W. Goethe. Seine Arbeits– und Wohnzimmer, Bücher und sogar alle Kleinigkeiten sind bis heute erhalten geblieben. 
Im großen alten Park an beiden Ufern des Flusses Ilm steht das Haus, in dem Goethe lebte, als er nach Weimar kam. In einem anderen Haus lebte und ar­beitete der große deutsche Dramatiker F. Schiller. Jetzt ist in diesem Haus das Schiller–Museum. 
Auf dem Weimarer Stadtfriedhof wur­den die beiden Dichter in der ehema­ligen Herzoggruft begraben. In den wissenschaftlichen Forschungs­ instituten Weimars erforscht man das literarische Erbe Deutschlands. 
Am Fuß des Ettersberges errichteten die Faschisten ein KZ–Lager, wo Tausende Freiheitskämpfer vernichtet wurden. Jetzt ist dort ein Nationalmuseum, das der heutigen Generation als Warnung dient. 

Weimar ist eine Gartenstadt. Dort kann man das ganze Jahr frische Blumen, Obst und Gemüse bekommen. Sie wachsen in zahlreichen Treibhäu­sern der Stadt. Und im Sommer sieht Weimar wie ein wunderbarer blühender Garten aus. 
Weimar ist eines der Zentren des gei­stigen Lebens des Landes. Hier gründete Goethe sein Theater, in dem er selbst als Schauspieler mitwirkte. 
Weimar ist Anziehungspunkt vieler Touristen, weil seine Sehenswürdig­keiten weltberühmt sind, und weil man sich in seinen Umgebungen gut erholen kann.
